Welcome to the website of Dr. Crista Wadsworth and her lab at the Rochester Institute of Technology in the Thomas H. Gosnell School of Life Sciences!
We are a group interested in understanding the complexities of microbial evolution using a combination of next-generation sequencing and experimental approaches. Our lab is particularly interested in addressing the global health crisis of antimicrobial resistance by elucidating the mechanisms of resistance in pathogen species, and by characterizing the reservoir of resistance available to pathogens in commensal species (the resistome). Related topics of interest include microbial speciation, niche specialization, and adaptive evolution.
The Wadsworth lab is also interested in collaborations across taxa.
